The first issue of Printing Times, the official journal of the AIFMP, came out over 44 years ago. Since then it has been published six times a year, every year, and has established a reputation for itself as the printing industry’s flagship publication and an institution in its own right.
The journal’s primary role has been to showcase the activities and achievements of the Federation and its Affiliates by carrying regular reports; promote Indian printers’ interests and concerns; lobby with the government and official bodies to ensure a conducive policy environment for the Indian printing industry; acquaint printers with trends and changing technologies in the global printing industry; and serve as a forum for debate and discussion on issues closest to the Indian printer’s heart. It also reports regularly on industry trade shows and conferences so that the Indian printers are kept in touch with cuttingedge technology, products and ideas showcased at these events. Special issues are brought out periodically in conjunction with national and international events, such as PAMEX, NAEP, Romancing Print, Drupa, etc. Printing Times is a bi-monthly designed to appeal to anyone with an interest in the print and graphics industry. Much has changed over the years since Printing Times’ first issue came out. The history of the journal has, in fact, mirrored the growth of the printing industry in India.
